ARA-290 is a synthotic peptide fragment derived from laminin. It is extensively studied in research models for its role in tissue repair, muscle regeneration, and inflammation regulation.

It is widely used in studies exploring healing and cellular recovery pathways.

ARA-290 is a valuable peptide in research focused on tissue regeneration, muscle repair, and inflammation modulation.

ARA-290 (also designated Cibinetide) is a research use only (RUO) synthetic peptide of eleven amino acids, engineered from the Helix B surface domain of Erythropoietin (EPO). The sequence reproduces the solvent-facing face of that helix — the region proposed to mediate EPO’s non-hematopoietic receptor interactions — while omitting the structural determinants associated with classical Erythropoietin Receptor (EPOR) homodimer signaling.

In cell-culture and preclinical model systems, ARA-290 is studied as a selective ligand for the Innate Repair Receptor (IRR), described in the literature as a heterodimer of EPORand the Beta-Common Receptor (CD131). Because the parent hormone engages both the EPOR homodimer and the EPOR/CD131 heterodimer, ARA-290 gives researchers a way to isolate the heterodimeric arm of that signaling system and study it independently of full-length EPO.

Category Overview | Signal Transduction Pathways

Signal Transduction peptides are studied in RUO settings to map how a defined ligand engages a defined receptor complex and which downstream cascades follow. Receptor-selective analogs are especially useful here: when a native hormone engages more than one receptor assembly, a shorter engineered sequence that favors one assembly lets researchers separate signaling arms that would otherwise be observed together.

Peptides in this category are commonly paired with phosphorylation readouts, reporter assays, and receptor-subunit knockdown or blockade to establish which receptor components are required for a given in vitro response.

Exciting Areas of Study
